The Regular Session was called to order by Mayor Kenney at 7:00pm with Councillors Louann Link, Laurie Smith, Max Kenney and Irene Baker present.
ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA:
APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA:
Being duly moved and seconded the agenda was approved as circulated. Motion carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF THE PREVIOUS MINUTES:
Being duly moved and seconded the minutes from the previous meeting was approved as circulated. Motion carried unanimously.
APPOINTMENTS:
Two members of the CSI New Horizons club presented Council with a proposal for them to hook up to the Town well situated at the back of the Town Hall. Their suggestions were to hook up directly to the well or through the system located inside the Town Hall, this second option would allow the Town to shut off the water if it was required because of insufficient supply. They also stated that they would be responsible for all costs associated with the hook up if Council decided in their favor.
It was Council’s decision to seek legal advice before giving consent to the CSI New Horizons.
Being duly moved and seconded, Council instructed the Clerk to contact the legal advisor regarding the above request. Motion carried unanimously.

MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES:
Mayor Kenney gave Council present an update on the community hall remediations.
REPORTS:
Streets, Sewers and Unsightly Premises:
The Public Works report was read and discussed.
The men’s washroom at the ballpark needs to have the vanity replaced due to vandalism.
Recreation:
No reports currently.
Building Inspector Report:
There was two building permits issued for the month of April.
Mayor/Councillors:
Mayor and Councillors shared their activities and meetings attended since the last regular meeting of Council.
CORRESPONDENCE:
All correspondence was shared with Council, only that requiring a motion will be added to the agenda.
A request for a donation was received, in the form of a letter, asking for a donation so that the Association may complete the trout pond located at the Barring Municipal Exhibition grounds.
Being duly moved and seconded, Council granted two hundred dollars ($200) to the association. Motion carried unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:
A draft budget of 2M was presented to Council for consideration, policing went from 214k in 24/25 to 227k, and due to the increasement in the uniform assessment, this also affected fire services, which increased from 61.6k to 66.6k and that of education contributions, from 148k to 160k. The Capital Fund was allocated 350k and transfer to reserves was allocated 79.5k.
Upon further consideration, it was suggested that the reserve monies be allocated to the Capital Fund to cover any contingencies that may arise from the Community Hall remediation.
Being duly moved and seconded, Council accepted the Draft Budget, with the recommended changes. Motion carried unanimously.
