Regular Session


Town Council


March 04, 2025


The Regular Session was called to order by Mayor Kenney at 7:00pm with Councillors Irene Baker, Louann Link, Max Kenney and Laurie Smith present.



ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA:


  1. Senior’s Garden Party – see recreation


APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA:


Being duly moved and seconded the agenda, as well as the addition was approved as circulated.

Motion carried unanimously.


APPROVAL OF THE PREVIOUS MINUTES:


Being duly moved and seconded the minutes from the previous meeting was approved as circulated.

Motion carried unanimously.



APPOINTMENTS:


  1. Peter Fairweather


Mr Fairweather, along with his partner, was present to discuss with Council a few concerns he had.

Building Inspector Report:

Mayor/Councillors:


Mayor and Councillors shared their activities and meetings attended since the last regular meeting of Council.


CORRESPONDENCE:


All correspondence was shared with Council, only that requiring a motion will be added to the agenda.

Both read and discussed, awaiting further information.


  1. West Head Wesleyan – Donation


Being duly moved and seconded, West Head Wesleyan was granted a donation of one thousand dollars ($1,000).

Motion carried unanimously.


  1. Sou’West Nova Funding Request


Being duly moved and seconded, Sou’West Nova was granted fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500).

NEW BUSINESS:


  1. GIC’s


Being duly moved and seconded, the Clerk was instructed to purchase one year cashable GIC’s with the monies in the reserve accounts, totally $1,363,910.00.

Motion carried unanimously.


  1. Ground Maintenance


The Clerk was instructed to contact Ralston Waybret to determine if he was interested in returning for another season.


  1. Transfer of CCBF funds to reserve


Being duly moved and seconded, the remaining CCBF funds in the amount of $25,086.00 are to be moved from operating to reserve.

Motion carried unanimously.


  1. Transfer the remaining Boardwalk funds from reserve to operating


Being duly moved and seconded, the balance of the boardwalk funds in the amount of $55,433.00 are to be transferred from reserve to operating.

Motion carried unanimously.


  1. Staff Wages – in camera



In Camera Session:


Being duly moved and seconded, the Council of the Town of Clark’s Harbour moved “in camera” at 9pm.

Motion carried unanimously.


Being duly moved and seconded, the Council of the Town of Clark’s Harbour moved out of “in camera” at 9:30pm.

Motion carried unanimously.


Direction was given to staff pertaining to the discussions of the “in camera” sessions.
