Municipal Election 2024 - Candidate Section

The 2024 CSAP and Municipal Election for the Town of Clark's Habour will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024.  For Candidate, Voter or Electoral District information, please click on the appropriate section below.

How many positions are available:

  • Mayor at Large - 1 seat

  • Councillor at Large - 4 seats

 

Who is eligible to run for Mayor or Councillor: (you can only run for one position)

 

Every person who

  • is a Canadian citizen of the full age of eighteen years at the time of nomination;

  • has been ordinarily resident in the Town of Clark's Harbour for a period of six months preceding nomination day, and continues to so reside;

  • has obtained a certificate in the prescribed form from the clerk, treasurer, collector or other official having knowledge of the facts that, as of nomination day, the charges that are liens on the person’s property and the taxes due to the municipality by the person have been fully paid or all instalments or interim payments that are due as of nomination day have been paid;

  • is not disqualified under this Act.

 

When can I file my Nomination Papers:

 

  • Nomination Papers can be obtained at the Town Office, from the Returning Officer or online. 

  • If you get a package from the Town Office or the Returning Officer you will be provided with additional information. 

  • Nomination Papers can be filed by appointment only starting Thursday, August 29, 2024 and ending on Nomination Day, Tuesday, September 10, 2024. APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED. 

Is the Town of Clark's Harbour divided into districts:

  • No. All seats, both Mayor and Councillors, are At Large, which means they respresent the entire town so there are no seperate districts. All eligible voters within the Town Limits can vote for Mayor and up to Four Councillors.
